At first {{{model|FM36YX}}} device will have default factory settings set. These settings should be changed according to the user's needs.<br/>

New {{{model|FM36YX}}} module has default factory settings. Settings should be changed according to your application and your GSM operator information. {{{model|FM36YX}}} configuration is performed via {{{model|FM36YX}}} Configurator program. Contact sales manager to get the latest {{{model|FM36YX}}} Configurator version. {{{model|FM36YX}}} configurator operates on Microsoft Windows OS and uses MS .Net Framework 3.5 or higher. Please ensure that MS .Net Framework 3.5 or later is installed on your PC before starting configurator. Latest MS .Net Framework version can be downloaded from official Microsoft web page.

Device can be configured to acquire and send data to server, in this case the GSM settings shall be set in regards with GSM operator's information. If device GSM is unavailable, the device will not be able to send the data and {{{model|FM36YX}}} will start storing records to flash memory. It is possible to store up to 192000 data records with 128 MB SD memory card (when 100 MB are used to store records). It will send data over GPRS when it is available. Note that {{{model|FM36YX}}} might reach its full memory capacity. If such case happens, the device will start deleting the oldest records in order to save new ones.<br/>

Module configuration can be performed over USB cable or using a Bluetooth connection. Configuration process begins by starting {{{model|FM36YX}}} Configurator software and then connecting to {{{model|FM36YX}}} device via <span style=color:#F6A83E>Connect</span> button located in <span style=color:#F6A83E>Online</span> menu part. {{{model|FM36YX}}} has one user editable profile, which can be loaded and saved to the device. After any modification of configuration the changes need to be saved to {{{model|FM36YX}}} device using <span style=color:#F6A83E>Save to device</span> button.<br/>

Module configuration is performed over USB cable. Configuration process starts from starting {{{model|FM36YX}}} Configurator program and then connecting to {{{model|FM36YX}}} device via Connect button located on the top left corner of configurator. If connected successfully IMEI, Version fields which were empty, now are filled with certain numbers depending on Modem IMEI and firmware version of your device (figure below). {{{model|FM36YX}}} has one user editable profile, which can be loaded from device, and saved. User can also revert to default settings, by pressing Load Defaults button. After any modification of configuration settings it has to be saved to {{{model|FM36YX}}} device, otherwise it will not be written to device.
