FMxy50 AutoScan feature

Starting from firmware version 04.01.00.Rev.08 the Autoscan feature for FMxy50 devices enables automatic identification of vehicle CAN parameters without requiring manual vehicle selection or a FotaWEB account. The system works by collecting CAN data from the vehicle, sending it to FotaWEB for processing, and automatically receiving the appropriate CAN OEM file.

This option allows even read CAN data from unsupported vehicles!

Steps required to start using AutoScan feature

1) Make sure device is using 04.01.00.Rev.08 firmware version or newer.
2) CAN Chip version is 00_02.06.01 or newer.
3) Device is able to connect to FotaWEB.
Note: if device firmware and CAN Chip version are older, both of them can be updated remotely via FotaWEB platform.

AutoScan feature flow

1) Take FMxy50 device vehicle connection scheme and connect FMxy50 device CAN lines as indicated.
2) When device powers up and ignition status changes to 1, AutoScan feature will start working automatically.
3) Device gathers data from CAN line for couple of seconds and sends it to FotaWEB.
4) In FotaWEB, in Tasks section automatically will appear task called "Received autoscan CAN file".

5) When data is analysed, second task will appeared called "Upload autoscan CAN OEM file".

6) When both tasks are successfully completed, FMxy50 device will have CAN OEM file uploaded and vehicle CAN parameters will be read.

Note: after uploading CAN OEM file, CAN IO parameters are not enabled automatically. Manual enabling of required parameters is required by choosing Low priority.

AutoScan feature manual initiation

In case device have already uploaded CAN OEM file or previous AutoScan process have failed, SMS/GPRS command runautoscan can be used to remove current CAN OEM file from FMxy50 device and initiate AutoScan feature again.
This also can be performed by using Teltonika Configurator by clicking "Scan" button in CAN settings tab. If ignition status will be on, status "OEM Autoscan Running" will be visible:

After colleting CAN data and receiving CAN OEM file, in Teltonika Configurator status will change to "OEM File Loaded":

AutoScan feature with unsupported vehicles

In case you have a vehicle, which is not included in FMxy50 supported vehicle list, AutoScan feature can be used to find best match from our already supported vehicle library. For CAN line connection you can follow from similar vehicle model that we support already, by connecting to OBD port CAN lines or by connecting other twisted CAN line pair from the vehicle wire loom.

Possible OBDII port CAN pairs:

Note: by connecting unsupported vehicle, AutoScan feature will not guarantee that all expected CAN parameters will be read or provide correct value.

How long AutoScan feature takes?

When everything is connected by connection scheme, vehicle ignition is on and device have good GPRS connection, the whole process will take up to 2 minutes.

Can AutoScan feature be used with ECAN02?

Yes, AutoScan feature will work even by using ECAN02 in installations, where direct CAN wire connection cannot be done.
Using ECAN02 some parameters, which require direct connection, will not be received. You can check those parameters in FMxy50 supported vehicle list, they are marked in yellow color.
