Main Page > Software & Applications > TachoSync > TachoSync FAQWhat is TachoSync?
- TachoSync is a modern cloud-based platform to manage tachograph data remotely. It helps fleets stay compliant by automating tachograph data downloads.
How is it different from Web Tacho?
- TachoSync is a completely re-imagined version of our tachograph download solution. It is cloud-hosted (no local servers needed), has a modern, intuitive interface, performs faster and more reliably, and offers API access for seamless integration. In addition to these core improvements, TachoSync also introduces a range of enhancements that make its daily use simpler, more flexible, and more efficient.
Is it a free solution?
- No. TachoSync is a paid service based on a flexible usage-based credit model. Though there is no license fee or initial installation cost –> you only pay for the active vehicles in the system.
How can I provide access to the system for my clients?
- Fill a helpdesk ticket for our support and provide:
- Email address of the client's representative
- After receiving the required information, the support engineer will create a virtual company for the client and send an invitation to the system.
Is there a way to provide ‘demo’ access?
- Yes. Once the company is created, 30 credits are added automatically and for free, with their expiry date set to +3 months counted from the creation date.
What is a ‘credit’?
- It's a sort of virtual currency in TachoSync, which is used to keep the fleet operational.
- 1 credit is reserved for each unique and active FM tracker monthly.
- At the end of the month, all reserved credits are deducted from the client's account.
Do credits have an expiry date?
- Yes. Purchased credits are valid for 12 months. Each new purchase extends the expiry date by 12 months, ensuring the credits remain available as long as the client is active.
What is the process of adding the credits to the customer's account?
- Unlike in Web Tacho, where adding licenses meant involving order execution analysts, creating HD queries for support engineers, doing manual work, etc. → The process of credit addition in TachoSync is automated.
Why is CCA not working?
- CCA must always be turned on and online, or check domain and port, or for new updates.
When will my newly purchased credits appear in TachoSync?
- TachoSync automatically synchronises data every night at 23:15, so you’ll see your new credits in TachoSync the next morning.
Which Professional series devices are supported?
- TachoSync is built to support the latest Teltonika trackers that are compatible with Smart Tachographs - specifically FMC650, FMM650 as well as compatible previous-generation devices FMC640, FMB640 and FMB641.
Can clients integrate TachoSync with their own systems?
- Yes. TachoSync includes a well-documented API, making it easy to integrate with fleet management software, portals, or other tools.
How many times a day does a device connect to the TachoSync?
- A device connects to the TachoSync platform depending on the vehicle’s ignition state.
- If the ignition is ON, the device will connect to check for assigned schedules.
- If no schedules are available, the device will attempt to connect again after the next ignition state change (Off → On).
What is the download frequency?
- For driver cards, data is downloaded based on the schedule (e.g., every 28 days, or at a daily frequency if configured).
- For tachograph devices, downloads also follow the schedule defined in the system. When creating a schedule, the NEXT DATE field will indicate the upcoming download time. If configured for daily downloads at a specific hour (e.g., 3:00 PM), the download will occur at that time each day.
Why Drivers doesn‘t auto-register?
- Check in Company Settings if Auto-register new drivers is enabled.
Why can‘t I get all driver schedules from TachoSync API using GET command?
- A DriverCard is first created using POST.
- The driver must then be applied to a schedule using PUT.
- Finally, use GET to verify the schedule.
- If these steps are not followed, the GET request will not return results.
How to download old data from the vehicles?
- By selecting Vehicle and then Quick Schedule, you have to select Activities for the wanted date from/to.
