Physical SIM card insertion/removal must be performed when device is powered off – external voltage and internal battery disconnected. Otherwise, the SIM card might be damaged or device will not detect it. |
FTC305 CASING VERSION
- Insert Nano-SIM card as shown with PIN request disabled. Make sure that Nano-SIM card cut-off corner is pointing towards the SIM slot.
- Connect the main 7-pin cable connector to the socket on PCB.
- Attach the cover. Please note: Before attaching cover, ensure the device is configured via USB. The USB port on the PCB will be inaccessible once the cover is fully attached.
- Device is ready to be mounted.
FTC305 NON-CASING VERSION
- You will receive your device with thermal cambric covering the PCB. Remove the thermal cambric.
- Insert Nano-SIM card as shown with PIN request disabled. Make sure that Nano-SIM card cut-off corner is pointing towards the SIM slot.
- Connect the main 7-pin cable connector to the socket on PCB.
- Re-attach thermal cambric. Please note: You can heat the thermal cambric for it to fully seal the PCB, however, after heating it, you will no longer be able to access SIM and USB slots unless the cambric is removed. You will still be able to configure the device using FOTA WEB or Bluetooth.
- External GNSS and Cellular antennas are included in the packaging box. Connect the GNSS antenna to adapter that is connected to PCB. Then connect the Cellular antenna to LTE adapter that is connected to PCB.
- External battery is included in the packaging box. Connect the battery to battery adapter that is connected to PCB.
- Device is ready to be mounted.

PC CONNECTION (WINDOWS)
- Connect device to computer using USB Type-C cable.
Please note: FTC305 device does not require an external power supply for configuration. However, without external power, data sending and other cellular connectivity functions will not work. If you want to test the device on a table, it is advised to power up FTC305 with a DC voltage (10-97V) power supply using power wires. - Install USB driver, see "HOW TO INSTALL USB DRIVERS (WINDOWS)".
HOW TO INSTALL USB DRIVERS (WINDOWS)
- Please download COM port drivers from here.
- Extract and run TeltonikaCOMDriver.exe.
- Click Next in driver installation window.
- In the following window click Install button.
- Setup will continue installing the driver and eventually the confirmation window will appear. Click Finish to complete the setup.
CONFIGURATION (WINDOWS)
At first, FTC881 device will have default factory settings set. These settings should be changed according to the user's needs. Main configuration can be performed via Teltonika Configurator tool (TCT).
LED BEHAVIOUR DESCRIPTION
This section is an explanation of LED indications on FTC881 device.
NAVIGATION LED INDICATIONS
| Behaviour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Permanently switched on | GNSS signal is not received |
| Blinking every second | Normal mode, GNSS is working |
| Off | GNSS is turned off because: Device is not working or Device is in sleep mode |
| Blinking fast constantly | Device firmware is being flashed |
STATUS LED INDICATIONS

| Blinking fast for a short time | Modem activity |

DEVICE FASTENING
- Locate the battery in your vehicle. If present remove the battery cover to access the battery.
- There is a double sided tape on the back of the device, use it to attach the device on the battery, so that the GNSS antenna and LEDs indicators are facing up.
CONNECTING POWER SOURCE
- Device power wire is designed to be directly connected to the positive terminal fastener of the vehicle battery.
CONNECTING GROUND WIRE
- Device ground wire is designed to be directly connected to the negative terminal fastener of the vehicle battery.
