NCC (National Communications Commission – Taiwan)

Description

The National Communications Commission (NCC) is the regulatory authority in Taiwan responsible for managing and supervising all communications and broadcasting services. NCC certification ensures that radio frequency (RF) and telecommunications devices comply with Taiwan’s legal, technical, and safety requirements.

This certification is mandatory for products using wireless communication technologies before they can be marketed or used in Taiwan. It verifies that devices will not cause harmful interference and meet all local RF exposure and electrical safety regulations.

Standards Applied

NCC certification is based on the following standards and regulations:

  • CNS 13438 – Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for radio equipment.
  • CNS 14409 – RF requirements for short-range devices and mobile communications equipment.
  • CNS 14336-1 – Electrical safety requirements for IT and telecommunications equipment.
  • CNS 15598 – Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) standards for devices emitting RF energy.
  • Radio Frequency Regulation (Part 5) – Technical specifications and frequency usage conditions.

Marking

Certified devices must display the official NCC logo and a unique approval code in the format: CCAHxxxyyyyZz
