Smart ignition
Documenting release 03.29.00.Rev.980. Smart ignition detection was ported from 03.29.00.Rev.610. Smart Ignition detection functionality which detects ignition by sudden external voltage jumps instead of manually set High and Low voltage ranges. New configurable parameters were added under “Ignition Settings” (Figure 1): • Smart Ignition Enable/Disable – To enable functionality. Parameter is able to be configured if “Ignition Source” has “Power Voltage” configured. • Smart Ignition Delta (mV) – How much external voltage must change to detect ignition ON or OFF event. • Smart Ignition Duration (s) – Time interval used for comparing current external voltage against historical external voltage configured seconds ago.
Figure 1. “Smart Ignition” configurable parameters
“Smart Ignition Detection”– detects ignition “on” and “off” automatically by monitoring last “Smart Ignition Duration” seconds of external voltage and comparing it to current external voltage value. If current external voltage value is higher by “Smart Ignition Delta” than external voltage “Smart Ignition Duration” seconds ago, Ignition “on” event is detected. If current external voltage value is lower by “Smart Ignition Delta” than “Smart Ignition Duration” seconds ago Ignition “off” event is detected. During device startup Initial Ignition state is set by checking external voltage current value against predefined values (Table 1) in case device startup while Ignition is really present but no voltage changes can be detected: External Voltage Source Maximum Predefined Voltage, mV Initial Ignition Threshold 6V 8000 6100 12V 16000 13200 24V 32000 27000 Table 1. Predefined Initial Ignition values
External voltage source is chosen comparing different scenarios. If external voltage during startup is lower than predefined maximum voltage, but is higher that Ignition threshold, Ignition will be set. After that “Smart Ignition” functionality takes place. Smart Ignition Parameters
