A key feature of TachoSync is the ability to set up schedules for automatic download of tachograph data from your vehicles or drivers at specified times and intervals.

Vehicle and driver schedule settings can be accessed in the respective “Vehicles” and “Drivers” menus in the sidebar.

To ensure the continuity of downloaded data, TachoSync uses adaptive activity download ranges – it automatically adjusts the download period based on the last successful data retrieval. This helps prevent gaps in data, even if a schedule download is not completed for a period of time (e.g. due to poor network connection of the tracker).

Schedule Types

Global Schedule

The default schedule, which can be automatically assigned to all new vehicles and drivers added to a company (configured in company settings). The global schedule cannot be removed.

This, for example, can be used as a basic catch-all schedule to get the minimal amount of data about all drivers/vehicles, with other custom schedules capturing the same or additional data with a different periodicity.

On the other hand, the Global schedule can be used as your "main" schedule, capturing all required data about your drivers/vehicles, as often as you need.

Custom Schedule

A schedule to download data in customized periods. Use presets or customize to your needs.

This can be used to supplement the Global schedule, or as a stand-alone schedule in any other way you require, e.g. for a subset of vehicles or drivers in your company.

Quick Schedule

A one-time schedule to quickly download the required data. The download is executed as soon as the vehicle connects to TachoSync. Quick schedules can be configured in the vehicle/driver details panel.

One example scenario for a quick schedule may be downloading of a longer history of Activities. By default, each downloaded .DDD file contains all historical data from the tachograph (amount of data depends on tachograph internal memory capacity), except Activities. Activities data is always downloaded for the period of the schedule. If you wish to retrieve Activities data for period in the past, independently of the schedule period, you may create a Quick schedule with a specific date range (depends on tachograph internal memory capacity).
